LENANI METLER has been dancing for her whole life. She has danced Polynesian dancing for 25 years and also trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and ballroom dance. She was a member of the Brigham Young Ballroom Dance Company for 3 years, has competed in International Latin and Ballroom styles, and studied as a dance major at BYU. Nani has performed professionally for many years with Island Style Dance Studio throughout Utah and in Illinois, Hawaii, and Michigan.
Nani has taught dance for 14 years at Island Style Dance Studio as well as other studios and schools around Utah Valley. She has also competed in Polynesian dance festivals in California. In high school, Nani was an accomplished swimmer, winning third place at state and setting a school record that still stands today at Mountain View High School. She is also a second-degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate.
I teach dance because I love watching children learn new skills. I love helping kids learn how to express their emotions in a new way. I love to help kids succeed in goals and ambitions. I want to be a part of helping kids to love themselves and see the amazing potential they have been given.
